The examples set out below are a small sample of recent work (as of 4th Feb 2008).
This instrument, owned by the same family since new, was restored by Geoff in1995 receiving new hammers, strings, tuning pins and damper felts. The soundboard was repaired and revarnished and the iron frame resprayed; the playing mechanism was repinned at all action pivots and the keys refelted. The casework was refinished and repolished. Geoff has given many concerts on this piano: click here to hear an example of its unique tone.
This piano has had new strings and tuning pins and its damper system upgraded using different shaped damper felts for greater efficiency. The action was regulated and the result was greater sustaining quality and a warm even tone.
Rebuilt with new hammers, new hammer shanks, flanges and rollers, strings, tuning pins, damper felts, and the iron frame re-gilded. The playing mechanism was re-set and the bodywork fully French polished in black.
